  1. Which installer should I use for my Unix/Linux?

Iseult is a cross-platform application that can be run on different operating sytems.
If you're running Linux on an Intel/AMD chip, and you don't have a Java Runtime Environment already installed, try to install Iseult using Linux(x86) installer. For any trouble, refer to the related installation guide.
If you're running Unix, or another Linux configuration, you should use Iseult install for Java.
  2. How does it work?

Iseult allows you to batch images: it processes selected input files the same way, depending on the processing mode you chose.
Indeed, each mode is a different way to modify your images.
To work with Iseult, one must add images to process to input list, then choose parameters, and finally start image processing on current selection.
  3. Does Iseult handle large images?

Yes, it does support images till several thousand pixels wide.
  4. How to run a simple batch conversion?

You may only want to change the format of your images. To do this, you should use the Thumbnails processing mode. Then put big values for width and height (whatever, but bigger than your images dimensions). Iseult will just convert your images to the selected output format (currently only JPEG).
